Melissa has over 15 years post-qualification experience in top tier law firms in Australia and Europe. She has worked in-house at a major Australian bank; and as general counsel of a financial services software company. Her focus in recent years has been on IT and outsourcing. In private practice her work included large-scale, complex cross-border financing transactions.

Melissa has worked in-house and for top tier firms in Australia and overseas since 1993. As a senior associate with Clifford Chance, Hungary she advised borrowers and lenders on a broad range of cross-border financing transactions, from gas and oil projects to straight syndicated lending and securitisation.    

In her ten years at ANZ in Melbourne she advised on a range of IT matters and dabbled in procurement generally. She also advised the Corporate and Institutional sector of the bank on a major compliance project.  She has a Diploma in Professional Writing and Editing and loves every opportunity to read, edit and write good words.  Known for her pragmatic approach and ‘can do’ attitude, she’s rarely seen without a smile on her face. When she’s not busy at her desk you’ll find her sweating it out in the Bikram yoga studio or working on her latest novel or short story.
